Meet Jessyca

Hey Friends!

I’m Jessyca—some folks call me JC.

Born and raised in the South, I grew up with the heart of a helper and the hustle of a homegrown real estate kid. My parents are both educators, and my dad is a real estate broker, so I spent my childhood creating colorful bulletin boards, running through open houses, and soaking in the magic of what makes a house feel like home.

I studied English Language & Literature and earned an MBA because I’ve always believed that creativity and strategy belong together. I got my start selling plumbing and lighting to builders and designers, working with companies like Build.com and Ferguson, and Home Depot. But what really lights me up? Helping people feel settled in.

Settle-In Home Consulting is my way of blending everything I love—design, storytelling, and making homes feel real. I help people create functional, stylish, warm spaces using what they already have and a few special touches they don’t. Because let’s be honest: the most beautiful spaces are the ones you actually want to kick your shoes off in.

To me, a house becomes a home with a few key things: good lighting, fresh paint, smart storage, plenty of places to eat and gather with your people—and bedrooms with blankets that wrap you in comfort and peace. I believe design should feel like an invitation, not a showroom.

When I’m not reimagining rooms, I’m usually writing, cooking up something soulful in the kitchen (yes, I’ve got recipes you’ll want), or spending time with my favorite people—family, friends, and anyone who brings good energy. I love going to concerts, getting my hands dirty in the garden, and soaking up as much sun as I can. Whether I’m hosting, designing, or just taking it all in, I believe joy lives in the details.
